Diana's depth and range of experience will be crucial as we continue to drive our mission forward, building upon the success of the organization and growing our network of entrepreneurs
Endeavor Detroit announced today it has selected Diana M. Callaghan as its new Managing Director. Callaghan will work to drive the strategic vision of the organization in Michigan and the Great Lakes region.
Originally from the metro-Detroit area, Callaghan has nearly 15 years of experience working locally, nationally, and globally serving innovative companies and impact organizations. Most recently, Callaghan co-led the Advisory Services practice at Mission Throttle, a local social impact strategy and investment firm. Over the last five years, her team worked with over 40 organizations on engagements designed to enhance financial sustainability, growth, and scale.
Prior to returning to Michigan, Callaghan worked as a consultant at EY in the Financial Services Office in New York City, where she managed the implementation of data analytics solutions for Fortune 500 financial services companies. While at EY, she served as Co-Chair of EY Unity’s Women Subcommittee of New York City and tri-state area.
Outside of her career, Callaghan has worked with organizations focused on accelerating entrepreneurship and impact around the world. She served as a consultant with entrepreneurs across Tanzania through a USAID fellowship and advised a leading impact organization in rural India on how to adopt innovative financial tools to support the empowerment of women living in extreme poverty. She currently serves as a board member of Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation and is on the Advisory Committee of EmpowerChange, a Ford Motor Fund and Michigan Women’s Forward pitch competition supporting women social entrepreneurs.
Diana received both her B.A. in Economics with high distinction and her MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan where she was the Director of Investments for the Social Venture Fund and a Zell Lurie Institute Entrepreneurship Scholar. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies and was previously nominated for the Harold D. Osterweil Prize in Economics.
“Detroit has become an internationally recognized center of innovation, attracting new startups, investment, and entrepreneurial resources. However, more support for high growth entrepreneurs in the region is critical to sustain this momentum. I am excited to continue building on Endeavor Detroit’s track record of selecting and supporting exceptional entrepreneurs, and to accelerate the region’s growing entrepreneurial landscape,” said Callaghan. “I am honored to be chosen to lead this incredible team and to usher Endeavor Detroit into a new era of growth and excellence. The results Antonio, the board, and the team have achieved over these past five years have been inspirational.”
Callaghan succeeds Founding Managing Director, Antonio Lück, who will remain a part of the Endeavor Network of mentors. “Under Diana’s vision and leadership, I know the organization will continue to grow,” said Lück. “I am incredibly proud of the impact Endeavor Detroit Entrepreneurs have had in our community. And I am extremely thankful to the Board, our team, mentors, and partners who together help our Detroit entrepreneurs continue to scale and multiply their impact by paying it forward. I am very excited to welcome Diana to the Endeavor family and look forward to continuing to support the organization.”
