It’s something most entrepreneurs strive for when starting a company. Endeavor Entrepreneur Geoff Horst of Algal Scientific is celebrating one of the most cherished milestones for an entrepreneur, as Kemin Industries, a global nutritional ingredient company that uses science to create solutions and products, has acquired unique beta-glucan manufacturing technology from Algal Scientific.
As one of Endeavor Detroit’s first entrepreneurs to successfully pass the selection process, Geoff took full advantage of the opportunities available to Endeavor Entrepreneurs. He quickly enrolled in Scaling Entrepreneurial Ventures at Harvard Business School – an Endeavor exclusive program, created and headed by our own Lynda Applegate, an Endeavor Detroit Board Member and Mentor. After the HBS program, Geoff leaned on the Endeavor Network to create meaningful connections and leveraged the guidance of several Endeavor Mentors for support through the acquisition process.
“From the beginning, I’ve believed in the model of Endeavor. By fully utilizing Endeavor Detroit’s services and network, I was able to make meaningful connections that prepared and led me to this major business milestone for Algal,” said Geoff, Chief Science Officer of Algal Scientific. “I look forward to seeing how the technology we’ve created will have a greater impact on the world through Kemin.”
Geoff is the first Endeavor Detroit Entrepreneur to experience an acquisition after joining Endeavor Detroit.
Today, we congratulate Geoff on his great accomplishment in his first entrepreneurial venture. We look forward to seeing what’s next for Geoff!
